What is the Bee Network Daily Cap?

The Bee Network is Greater Manchester's integrated public transport system, combining buses, Metrolink trams, and local rail services under one ticketing system. The daily fare cap means you will never pay more than a set amount per day regardless of how many journeys you make.

As of September 2026, the daily bus cap is £4.50 for adults using contactless payment. This means if you take four bus journeys in one day (commute there, back, and two more), you only ever pay a maximum of £4.50 total.

🐝 BeeSaved Tip

Always use contactless (card or phone) rather than cash. Cash payments are not eligible for the daily cap and you'll pay full price for every journey. Contactless is automatically capped.

How the Cap Works Step-by-Step

1

Tap in with contactless at the start of every journey

Use your debit card, credit card, or phone. Each tap charges the single fare for that journey.

2

The system tracks your daily total automatically

Bee Network's backend system adds up all your contactless taps across the day.

3

Once you hit the daily cap, further journeys are free

After you've spent £4.50 on buses in a single day, every additional bus journey that day costs nothing.

4

The cap resets at midnight each day

Your daily spending counter resets at midnight. Each new day starts fresh.
